  • 5.5 mm “I” crochet hook
  • 590 yards of #3 weight yarn (I used 1 yarn cake of Mandala from Lion Brand Yarn in the “Sphinx” colorway)
  • Tapestry/yarn Needle
  • Scissors
  • Tape measure

  • 24 inches tall (from the bottom point to the top of the shawl)
  • 50 inches across the top edge of the shawl

  • Chain (ch)
  • Double Crochet (dc)

Ch 7

Row 1:

In the 5th ch from the hook work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc). Skip a ch, then in the last ch, work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc).

Row 2:

Ch 3 and turn. Work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in each ch 1 space from the previous row (center of each fan). Work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) into the turning chain space.

Repeat row 2 until the shawl is the desired size or until you run out of yarn. The shawl pictured was approximately 24 inches tall from the bottom starting point to the top edge. To make your shawl larger and wider, simply work more rows of the pattern as desired. Fasten off and weave in any ends that remain and your Autumn Skies Crochet Shawl is ready to wear!
