Crochet Faded Rainbow Tablet Case

What you need:

2 + colors of worsted weight acrylic yarn

8 mm hook (I used a Crystallite L)

Scissors

Yarn needle

Case:

Worked with two strands of yarn throughout. I use the center strand as well as the one from the outside of the skein. With red (or starting color) chain a chain that is long enough to go around your tablet or other device. Add one more chain then slip stitch to first chain to form ring.

I chained 30 for my case.

Worked in sc with a chain 1 at the start of each row, slip stitch to join rows

  • Rows 1-2: red
  • Row 3: one strand of red and one of orange
  • Rows 4-5: orange
  • Row 6: one strand of orange and one of yellow
  • Rows 7-8: yellow
  • Row 9: one strand of yellow and one of green
  • Rows 10-11: green
  • Row 12: one strand of green and one of aqua
  • Rows 13-14: aqua
  • Row 15: one of aqua and one of dark blue
  • Rows 16-17: dark blue
  • Row 18: one of dark blue and one of purple
  • Rows 19-20: purple

Fold case in half and sc along bottom (purple). Tie off and weave in all ends.

Cut six 12-18 inch strands (one of each color). Thread 3 strands into front center top stitch and braid. Repeat on back.

This case was made for a 7 inch tablet, if you have a larger or smaller tablet add or subtract rows. This pattern would look great even with 2 colors.
