  • Yarn — Med (4) Acrylic Scrap yarn – 9 — 10 oz.
  • Yarn Needle
  • Button — 2 inches

  • Single Crochet (sc)
  • Half Double Crochet (hdc)
  • Double Crochet (dc)
  • Triple Crochet (tr)
  • Space (sp)
  • Back Loop Only (blo)

Size: 40 W. X 22 L. Inches

Notes:

  • Ch 4 Counts as tr
  • Ch2 Counts as a hdc
  • The Stripes / Color Changes are in indicated in the pattern.
  • Those are up to you and what yarns you have in your yarn stash.

Pattern:

R: 1 – Ch 5, join in a circle, ch4, 4 tr, ch 2, 5 tr in the circle,

Turn, ch 4 (5 tr, ch2, 5 tr)

R: 2 – 1 tr in the same st as the ch4, 1 tr in next 4 tr,

2tr, ch2,2 tr in the ch2 sp, 1 tr in the next 4 tr, 2 tr in the last tr,

Turn, ch 4 (8 tr, ch2, 8 tr)

R: 3 -1 tr in the same st as the ch4, 1 tr in next 7tr,

2tr, ch2, 2 tr in the ch2 sp, 1 tr in the next 7 tr, 2 tr in the last tr,

Turn, ch 4 (11 tr, ch2, 11 tr)

R: 4 — 1 tr in the same st as the ch4, 1 tr in next 10 tr,

2tr, ch2, 2tr in the ch2 sp, 1 tr in the next 10 tr, 2 tr in the last tr,

Turn, ch 2 (14 tr, ch2, 14 tr)

R: 5 – BLO, 1 hdc in the same st as the ch2, 1 hdc in the next 13 sts,

2 hdc, ch1, 2hdc in the ch2 sp, 1 hdc in the next 13

2 hdc in the last st, turn, ch 4 (17 hdc, ch2, 17 hdc)

R: 6 — 1 tr in the same st as the ch4, 1 tr in each hdc,

Turn, ch 2 (20 tr, ch2, 20 tr)

R: 7 – BLO, Hdc in the same st as the ch2, 1 hdc in each tr

2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc in the ch2 sp, 1 hdc in each tr, 2 hdc in the last tr,

Turn, ch 4 (23 hdc, ch2, 23 hdc)

R: 8 – Tr in the same st as the ch4, 1 tr in each tr

2tr, ch2, 2 tr in the ch2 sp, 1 tr in each tr, 2 tr in the last tr,

Turn, ch 2 (26 tr, ch2, 26 tr)

R: 9 – R: 22 — Repeat R: 7 – R: 8- For 7 More Times

Alternating every other row And Increasing every row

For a Larger scarf continue to repeat R: 7 – 8

Remember as it increases wider, it also increases longer

Trim:

R: 22 – Evenly hdc across the top,

*Ch3, sk 2 hdc, sc in the next* Repeat down the side of side to the point of the scarf,

And up the 2nd side of the scarf, join to the 1st sc at the top, join to the 1st hdc

R: 23 — Turn To The Front of your work And Repeat R: 22

R: 24 – Working down the sides of the scarf.

*ch3, 2 dc in the same st, sk 2 hdc, slst in the next hdc*

Repeat From * to * down the side, and up the other side of the scarf,

Join to the 1st sc, ch8, join to the same st,

join to the next st, tie off weave in your ends.

Button Loop: Join yarn the the 3rd st at the before beginning of R: 24,

ch 8, sk 2 sts and join with a slst, turn,10 sc in the ch8 loop, join to the next st,

with a slst, tie off weave in the ends.

Sew on the button if desired, in the outside corner of the scarf
