Shawl:

Ch 3, Sl st to first Ch to form a ring.

Row 1: Ch 6 (counts as DC + Ch 3 sp), DC into the ring, Ch 1, DC into the ring, Ch 3, DC into the ring, Turn.

Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as DC + Ch 1), DC into first st, 4 DC in ch 3 sp, DC in next st, [DC, Ch 3, DC] into Ch 1 sp, DC in next st, 4 DC in Ch 3 sp, [DC, Ch 1, DC] in last st, Turn.

Row 3: Ch 4, DC in first st, Ch 1, DC in Ch 1, sp, Ch 1, DC in next st, *Ch 1, Sk next st, DC in next st, repeat from * until you get to the ch 3 sp, [DC, Ch 3, DC] into ch 3 sp, Ch 1, DC in next st, *Ch 1, Sk next st, DC in next st, repeat from ** until end, ending this row with Ch 1, DC in Ch 1, sp, Ch 1, [DC, Ch 1, DC] in last st, Turn.
