H, 4 mm crochet hook

2 oz – Lily Sugar N Cream Dazzle Blue in or any worsted weight medium gauge cotton yarn

2 oz – Lion Brand Re-Up Navy or any worsted weight medium gauge cotton yarn

Skill Level: Intermediate ( bobble and picot single crochet)

Yarn Needed: Worsted Weight Cotton 1 skein (2nd color needed for border)

Abbreviations – US Terms

yo- yarn over

ch/chs – chain/chains

st/sts – stitch/stitches

sc – single crochet

bl – back loop

Bobble – bobble stitch

psc – picot single crochet

Special Stitch: Bobble: YO, insert hook into indicated st. YO, pull up loop. (YO, insert hook into same st. YO, pull up a loop) twice. YO, pull through all 7 loops on hook.

Picot Single Crochet (Psc): (Worked from the WS of the fabric) Insert the hook in the next st, yo and pull up a loop. [Yo and pull through 1 loop] 3 times (as for a ch 3). Yo and pull through both loops on the hook. Push ch 3 to the back (RS) of the fabric when working the next st.

You can make a larger or smaller potholder or a blanket by using 3 +2 chain.

Chain 1 at the beginning of rows does NOT count as stitch.

Washcloth Pattern

Chain 32

Row 1: Ch 1 (does not count as a st, here and throughout) sc in first 2 sts. *Bobble in next st, sc in next 2 sts. Rep from * across row.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in the BL of each sc across.

Row 3: Repeat row 1.

Rep rows 2-3 for stitch pattern! 25 rows

Border in Navy

Pull up a stitch in corner. Sc in each stitch around. Put 3 sc in each corner. On the sides make one sc for each row.

For 2nd round sc in the first stitch, psc in 2nd. Repeat sc, psc for the entire round. put 3 sc in corners.

Repeat sc for 3 round. Slip stitch to first stitch.

Knot and weave in ends using a tapestry needle. Cut off excess yarn. Enjoy this cotton washcloth.
