Poncho

Base Round: Referring to the chart above, for your desired size, ch the number indicated in

Beginning Chain Count column and place a stitch marker in the indicated chain from the last column. Join with sl st to first ch to form a circle.

Round 1: Beg Shell, *skip 1 ch, [V Stitch in the next ch, skip 1 ch]*, repeat between [ ] to marked stitch; Shell in marked stitch, repeat between * to end. Join to 3rd ch of beginning ch4, sl st across each stitch until you are in the ch2 space of the Beg Shell.

Round 2: Beg Shell, V Stitch in each ch1 space to next ch2 space; Shell in ch2 space, V Stich in each ch1 space to end. Join to 3rd ch of beginning ch4, sl st across each stitch until you are in the ch2 space of the Beg Shell.

Repeat Round 2 until poncho is desired length.

Stitch count will vary by size, you will have the same number of V Stitches on either side of the ch2 spaces. Your stitch count will increase by 4 V Stitches in each round.

Border

Round 1: Ch2 (counts as hdc), [ch1, 2hdc] in same stitch as beginning ch2, work hdc in each dc and ch1 space to next ch2, [1hdc, ch1, 2hdc] in ch2 space, hdc in each dc and ch1 space to end. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch2, sl st into next hdc and into ch1 space.

Note: The stitch count must be divisible by 6 between the two ch2 spaces. Add extra stitches evenly throughout in order to achieve the correct stitch multiple.

Round 2: Ch2 (does not count as stitch), *8dc in same ch1 space, skip next hdc, sc in next hdc, [skip 2, 6dc in next hdc, skip 2, sc in next hdc], repeat between [ ] until 1 st remains before next ch1*, repeat between * to end, join with sl st to first st. Fasten off.

Neckline

Round 1: Join yarn 1 stitch before one of the points, ch1, sc in same st, skip the point, sc in each st around to stitch before next point, skip point, sc in each st to end, join to first st.

Note: The stitch count is an increment of 4 +1 between ch1 spaces. Add extra stitches evenly throughout in order to achieve the correct stitch multiple.

Round 2: Ch2 (does not count as st), *dc3tog (dc3tog is worked using the point and the sc before and after the point – note, the point is actually the space between two sc), skip next sc, [sc in next sc, skip 1, 4dc in next sc, skip 1], repeat between [ ] until 3 sts remain before next ch1*, sc in next sc, skip 1, repeat between * to end, join to dc3tog. Fasten off.
