worsted weight yarn
Size 6 DPN


Tie:
CO 3 sts and work I-cord for 10". You can go 12 inches if you want a longer tie.

Increase:
Row 1: Sl 1, purl to end
Row 2: Sl 1, m1, k1, m1, k1 (5 sts)

Row 3: Sl 1, purl to end

Row 4: Sl 1, m1, k 3, m1, k1 (7 sts)

Row 5: Sl 1, purl to end

Row 6: Sl 1, m1, k5, m1, k1 (9 sts)


Body:

Row 7: Sl 1, Purl to end (WS)

Row 8: Sl 1, k1, *YO, k3, pas first of the 3 knit stitches over the 2nd and 3rd stitches; Repeat from * across ending with k1.

Row 9: Sl 1, Purl to end

Row 10: Sl 1, * K3, Pass 1st stitch over the 2nd and 3rd, YO; Repeat from * across ending with k2

Repeat these last 4 rows until piece measures 11" Ending with a RS row.


Decrease:

Row 1: Sl 1, Purl to end (WS)

Row 2: Sl 1, K2tog through back loops, K3, k2tog, k1 (7 sts)

Row 3: Sl 1, Purl to end

Row 4: Sl 1, k2tog through back loops, K1, k2tog, k1 (5 sts)

Row 5: Sl 1, Purl to end

Row 6: Sl 1, K2tog through back loops, k2 (4 sts)

Row 7: Sl 1, Purl to end

Row 8: Sl 1, k2tog through back loops, k1 (3 sts)

Without turning on your last row, knit i-cord for 10" or same as other tie. Weave ends into i-cords and wear with pride!
