Stitches
The pattern is written in standard US terms and uses the following crochet stitches:
sc – single crochet (UK dc – double crochet)
dc – double crochet (UK tr – treble crochet)
Special Stitches
Dc in skipped stitch
When working into a skipped stitch, the double crochet is worked around the 3 double crochet stitches that are before it.
Note for working across the first set of 3dc in the set pattern:
The first st of the round moves backwards every other round of the main set pattern as we work into the last st of the round in the first stitch repeat.
You don’t need to do anything differently, just make sure to keep track of the first stitch of the round.
