Materials
- 6 meters of White DK yarn for your Rose (I have used Circiulo Amigurumi)
- 4 meters of Red DK yarn for your Rose (I have used Circiulo Amigurumi)
- 3 meters of Green DK yarn
- 5 meters of Cream DK yarn
- Matching crochet hook to your yarn I have used a 3.5mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Gauge: 19dc stitches x 10 rows for a 10 x 10cm square.
Size: 10 x 10cm per granny square.
Notes: The granny square is worked in the round. The Rose is worked using front and back loops.
Stitches
Double Crochet Cluster (dc cluster): Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pick up yarn, pull through first 2 loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pick up yarn, pull though next 2 loops (3 loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pick up yarn, pull through next 2 loops (4 loops on hook),yarn over pull through all loops on hook.
Crochet Rose Granny Square Pattern
Row 1: (White Yarn) Make a magic circle, ch1, add 6sc to the centre, sl st into the FRONT LOOP of the first st. Total: 6sc.
Row 2: WORKING IN THE FRONT LOOPS ONLY. *(sc, hdc, dc) in the first st, (hdc, sc, sl st into the same stitch) all in the second st* repeat * to * 2 more times. Total: 3 petals.
Row 3: WORKING IN BACK LOOPS OF ROW 2 ONLY. 6 sc inc., sl st into FRONT LOOP of the first st. Total: 12sc.
Row 4: WORKING IN THE FRONT LOOPS ONLY. *(sc, hdc, dc) in the first st, (hdc, sc, sl st into the same stitch) all in the second st* repeat * to * 5 more times. Total: 6 petals. Fasten off & weave in your ends.
Row 5: (Red Yarn) WORKING IN BACK LOOPS OF ROW 4 ONLY. 12 sc inc., sl st into FRONT LOOP of the first st. Total: 24sc.
Row 6: WORKING IN THE FRONT LOOPS ONLY. *(sc, hdc) in the first st, dc inc., dc inc., (hdc, sc, sl st into the same stitch) all in the third st* repeat * to * 5 more times. Total: 6 petals. Fasten off and weave in your ends.
Row 7: GREEN YARN. WORKING IN BACK LOOPS ONLY OF ROW 5. Attach yarn to any st, ch2 (count as the beginning of a dc cluster stitch) continue cluster stitch in same stitch [yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pick up yarn, pull through first 2 loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pick up yarn, pull through next 2 loops (3 loops on hook), yarn over pull through all loops on hook], ch3, dc cluster [yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pick up yarn, pull through first 2 loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pick up yarn, pull through next 2 loops (3 loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pick up yarn, pull through next 2 loops (4 loops on hook),yarn over pull through all loops on hook] in the same stitch, ch5, skip 5,
