Worsted yarn — cream, orange, black (pictured: Vanna's Choice Fisherman, Red Heart SS Carrot & black)
H-hook
16 oz. mason jar
Tapestry needle


With cream
Rnd 1: 9 hdc into a magic ring
Rnd 2: Ch. 2, 2 hdc in each — 18
Rnd 3: Ch. 2, * hdc next, 2 hdc next * around — 27
Rnd 4: Ch. 2, * hdc next 2, 2 hdc next * around — 36

Rnd 5: Ch. 1, hdc in next (NOT same as join!), hdc in each stitch around, 2 hdc in last — 36
Rnd 6: Ch. 2, hdc in same as join and each stitch around — 36
**Repeating rounds 5 and 6 will give you a straight seam where the rounds are joined.
Rnd 7-8: repeat rounds 5 and 6, switch to orange in last stitch

Rnds 9-14: Repeat rounds 5 and 6 three times, join but do not fasten off


Ears
Join cream in the 11st stitch from join
Ch. 1, sc in same and next 3, turn — 4 sc
Ch. 1, sc in next, sc dec, sc, turn — 3
Ch. 1, sc dec, sc, turn — 2
Ch. 1, sc dec, fo

Skip 7 stitches
Repeat directions for second ear

Pick up orange
Sc around. When you get to the top of each ear, ch. 2, slip stitch in the second chain from the hook. sc in the top stitch of the ear


Nose
With black
9 sc into MR, fo leaving a long tail for sewing


Sew nose to the front of your fox. Using a long strand of black, stitch eyes. Beginning between rounds 11 and 12, pull the yarn from back to front. Go back through between rounds 12 and 13, slightly to the right of where you started (to the left for the left eye). The horizontal stitch for the top of the eye will cross over 2 stitches of round 13. Tie securely to the inside of the cozy and trim ends.
