Crochet Striped Neck Warmer Free Pattern

Materials:

  • Size H, 5.00 mm crochet hook
  • Light weight acrylic yarn (size 3), I used Mira Handcrafts yarn in 8 colors
  • Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

hk- hook

ch- chain

st(s)- stitch(es)

sc- single crochet

hdc- half double crochet

sl st- slip stitch

sk- skip

sp- space

Gauge:

13 sts x 12 rows = 4″ square

Pattern:

With first color Ch 98 (measures 29″)

Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from the hk and each ch to end, turn (96).

Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (96).

Row 3: Change to white color, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (96).

Row 4: Switch to new color, ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (96).

Row 5: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (96).

Repeat rows 3-5, 5 more times.

Fasten off, weave in all ends.

Lay the neck warmer so one end overlaps the other to form a pointed “V” in the front.

Edging:

With first color pick up a st and ch 1. Evenly sc 90 in each st around, working through both sides where the neck warmer overlaps. The number of sc’s doesn’t need to be exact but needs to be a multiple of 3.

Sl st in first st.

Round 1: *Ch 5, sk next 2 sts, sl st in next st,* repeat from * around, ending with ch 5.

Round 2: *Sc 3 in ch 5 sp, ch 2, sl st in first ch, sc 2 in same ch 5 sp,* repeat from * around, sl to to join.

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Leave the collar up for fold it over to complete the look!
