Crochet Travel Tissue Cozy

MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn approximately 1 oz
G (4.5 mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle
Button about .5 to .75 inch button, Velcro or a snap for closure

NOTES:

1. This Pocket Pack cozy is made for the end opening packets. If the ones you buy open in the middle or on the side this cozy can still be used, just cut a slit in the wrapper on the end of the packet.
2. DO NOT join rounds, move marker up each round.
3. FLO = front loop only
4. BLO = back loop only

INSTRUCTIONS:

Ch 8

ROUND 1: Make 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch (5) to last ch, working over yarn tail for remainder of this round, 3 sc in last ch, work in opposite side of starting ch and over the tail, sc in each of 6 ch stitches. Place marker in last st. [16 sc]

ROUND 2: 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts, sc in 5 sts, 2 sc in next 3 sts, sc in 5 sts, 2 sc in last st. Remember to move up the marker. [22 sc]

Compare your work to the end of tissue packet. It should be about the same size. If it is to long, start over with fewer chains. If it is too short, start over with additional chains. You will have a 2 stitch adjustment for each chain you adjust your start by.

ROUNDS 3-17: Sc in BLO of each sc around. [22 sc]

ROUND 18: Insert packet of tissue in cozy. The 17th round should come to the top of the packet. Mark the st at the right back corner of packet. Remove packet and sc around until 1 st before marked st. Slip stitch in that st and marked st. Ch 1, turn.

BUTTON FLAP: 

Worked over 9 sts
ROW 1: Sc in FLO of 2 slip stitches, sc in FLO of next 7 sts. Ch 1, turn. (9 sts)

ROW 2: Sc in BLO of 9 sc. Ch 1, turn. (9 sc)

ROW 3: Sc in FLO of 9 sc. Ch 1, turn. (9 sc)

ROW 4: Sc in BLO of 9 sc. Ch 1, turn. (9 sc)

ROW 5: Working in FLO sc dec in first 2 sts, sc in 5 sts, sc dec in last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn. (7 sc)

ROW 6: Working in BLO sc dec in first 2 sts, sc in 1 st, ch 1, skip 1 sc, sc in 1 st, sc dec in last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn. (5 sc)

ROW 7: Working in FLO sc dec in first 2 sts, sc over ch, sc dec in last 2 sts. (3 sc)
Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Sew button under buttonhole.

For Velcro or snap closure work the same as buttonhole flap, except instead of a ch 1 work a sc in the skipped stitch.
