Pattern

Section 1: Crochet Coaster

ch 28

Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in each chain across. Ch 1, turn. (27).

Row 2: Scblo in first stitch, and in each stitch across. Ch 1, turn. (27).

Row 3 – Row 19: Repeat row 2.

Finish off and weave in ends. Now you will add fringe to the sides of your coaster.

Section 2: How to Add Fringe to Your Coaster

You will need a total of 42 – 2″ inch strands of yarn (21 strands on each side of the coaster).

Step 1: Insert your crochet hook into the bottom stitch on the right side of your coaster. Grab one of the yarn strands and pull it through halfway using the crochet hook. Then put your two fingers in the loop you just created and pull the other side of the yarn through.

You have just created your first piece of fringe!

Now continue to repeat step 1 for the remainder of the right side and left side. When finished, continue onto step 2.

Step 2: Using a pair of scissors, carefully trim the fringe on the left and right side. You want to make sure to leave about 1/2″ to 1″ inch of the fringe.

You’re finished! I hope you enjoyed making these crochet mug rug coasters.
