Materials

  • Crochet Hooks: 5.5 mm (main body) and 4 mm (lace-up back)
  • Stitch Markers
  • Darning Needle

Measurements

  • Bust Measurement: Take your bust measurement.
  • Desired Width: Subtract 20-30 centimeters from your bust measurement to determine the width of the top.

Foundation Chain

Chain the number of stitches needed to achieve your desired width. For instance, for a width of 70 centimeters, chain up 101 stitches.

Body Panel

Row 1

Skip the first chain, single crochet in the second chain, then single crochet in every chain across.

Row 2

Chain 1, turn, single crochet in every stitch across.

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you reach your desired length from the underarm to the bottom hem.

Middle Upper Chest Section

Row 1

Single crochet decrease (single crochet 2 together), single crochet in every stitch across until 2 stitches remain, single crochet decrease (single crochet 2 together).

Row 2

Chain 1, turn, single crochet in every stitch across.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you reach the desired length for the top section.

Lace-up Back

Using a 4 mm hook, chain a long length of chain stitches.

Thread the chain through the top stitch of the first corner of the top panel.

Find the center of the panel and thread the chain through this center stitch.

Thread the chain through the bottom stitch of the first corner. Repeat with the second chain.

Tie the chains together at the bottom of the top.

Additional Tips

Adjust the length of the top by altering the number of rows in the body panel and middle upper chest section.

You can adjust the width of the top by chaining more or fewer stitches at the start.

Leave extra length in the lace-up chains for adjustability.

This pattern allows for customization in size and length, ensuring a comfortable and flattering fit. Enjoy creating your personalized crochet top!
