SIZES:
0-3 months:
- Neck circumference = 25 – 30 cm
- Shoulder Length = 6.5 – 7 cm.
- Dress length = 35 cm.
MATERIALS / SUPPLIES:
You will need :
- Crochet hook size: 3.5mm (E/9).
- Yarn Medium (3): wool or cotton in any color.
- Stitch markers.
- Scissors.
- Yarn Needle.
- Tape measure.
- 1 Button.
- 1 Flower.
STITCHES:
- Ch – chain
- St/sts – stitch/stitches
- Sl st – slip stitch (Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook).
- Sc – single crochet (Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops).
- Dc – double crochet (Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops).
- Lacy Shell Stitch – (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) all in the same stitch ( 2 ch space).
- P – picot stitch
PATTERN NOTES:
- If the number is written before the stitch 2 dc work 2 dc into the same stitch. If the number is written after the stitch dc 2 work dc into next 2 stitches.
- Repeat what is written in the () as many times as it’s written right after the (). For example Repeat (2 dc, dc 1) 5 times. It means that you have to repeat the sequence work 2 dc st into the same st. 1 dc into the next one 5 times. And you will get 5 additional stitches by doing that.
- The slip stitch does not count as a stitch in the pattern.
- Ch 3 does count as a stitch and the 2nd stitch should be in the next stitch.
- At the end of each round/row please count how many sts do you have at the end of that round/row.
Crochet Baby Dress (0 – 3 Months)
THE GAUGE: Work 20 chain stitches and 8 rows in Dc using a 3.5 mm crochet hook to measure 10 x 10 cm (4′ x 4′).
PINK COLOR:
Start with 57 chain sts. Then add Ch 2. Neck circumference = 25 cm (9.84”).
Round 1: Dc in the 4th ch from the hook, 1 Dc in next Ch, Dc 2 in the next Ch, Now repeat (1 Dc in next 3 Ch, 2 Dc in next Ch) around, 1 Dc in the last Ch. (71 sts) Turn.
Round 2: Ch 2, Dc in next 3 sts, 2 Dc in next st, Now repeat (Dc in next 4 sts, 2 Dc in next st) around, 1 Dc in the last st. (85 sts) Turn.
Round 3: Ch 2, Dc in next 4 sts, 2 Dc in next st, Now repeat (Dc in next 5 sts, 2 Dc in next st) around, 1 Dc in the last st. (99 sts) Turn.
Round 4: Ch 2, Dc in next 5 sts, 2 Dc in next st, Now repeat (Dc in next 6 sts, 2 Dc in next st) around, 1 Dc in the last st. (113 sts) Turn.
Round 5: Ch 2, Dc in next 6 sts, 2 Dc in next st, Now repeat (Dc in next 7 sts, 2 Dc in next st) around, 1 Dc in the last st. (127 sts) Turn.
Round 6: Ch 1, Sc in next 7 sts, 2 Sc in next st, Now repeat (Sc in next 8 sts, 2 Sc in next st) around, 1 Sc in the last st. (141 sts) Turn.
Round 7: Ch 1, Sc in the same st, Sc in next 17 sts, skip 34 sts, Sc in next 37 sts, skip 34 sts, Sc in next 18 sts, Sl st in the first st. (73 sts).
Shoulder Length = 6.5 – 7 cm (2.6” – 2.76”).
Round 8: Ch 3, skip 1 st, shell st (2 Dc, Ch 2, 2 Dc) next, now repeat (skip 1 st, shell st next), skip last st, Sl st in the 3rd Ch. (36 shells).
WHITE COLOR:
Round 9-22: Ch 3, shell st in next each shell space, repeat that around, Sl st in the 3rd Ch. (36 shells).
PINK COLOR:
Round 23: Ch 3, shell st in next each shell space, repeat that around, Sl st in the 3rd Ch. (36 shells).
WHITE COLOR:
Round 24: Ch 3, shell st in next each shell space, repeat that around, Sl st in the 3rd Ch. (36 shells).
PINK COLOR:
Round 25: Ch 3, shell st in next each shell space, repeat that around, Sl st in the 3rd Ch. (36 shells).
Dress length = 34 – 35 cm (13” – 13.77”). You can do more than 35 cm by adding more rounds (repeat round 9).
FASTEN OFF.
FINISHING
The Arms: Now insert the hook into one of the sts in the arm. Then make Ch 1, Sc in the same st, Sc in next 2 sts, make P st (Ch 3, and Sl St into the 3rd Ch), Sc in next 3 sts, P st, now repeat (Sc in next 3 sts, P st) around, Sl st in the first st. (38 Sc) (12 Picot sts) Fasten off.
The Neck: Now insert the hook into the back in the middle and make ch 1. Then Sc in the next sts until you reach the corner and work 2 Sc in the corner, P st, now repeat (Sc in next 3 sts, P st) until you reach the next corner, Sc in the corner, Ch 4, Sc in next sts, Sl st in the last st. (20 Picot sts). Fasten off.
Now, add your button and a beautiful flower.
