Rnd 2–5: Ch 1, 1 sc in each stitch around. Continue to work evenly in single crochet.

Rnd 6–9: Change color. 1 sc in each stitch around. Repeat rounds 2–9 until the case reaches the desired height for your phone.

Edging / Closure

Fasten off when you reach the desired length. Make the closure strap: ch 15, 1 dc in the 3rd ch from hook, 1 dc in the next stitch, ch 2, skip 2 ch, then 1 dc in each remaining ch. Join with sl st.

Decorative loops / straps

Make additional chain loops or decorative pieces as desired: crochet 12 ch; crochet 20 ch (make two of these if you want extra loops); crochet 30 ch; crochet 40 ch. Arrange and sew these pieces onto the front or back of the case where you prefer.

Sew the strap and any decorative chains onto the case using a sewing needle and yarn. Sew on a button for the closure.

Finished — your crochet phone case is ready to use.

Tips

  • Adjust the initial chain count for wider or narrower phones.
  • Repeat rounds until the height fits your phone; check fit before adding the strap/button.
  • Use contrasting colors for stripes by changing color every few rounds as shown above.
