Materials: ( I used )

  • 4 mm crochet hook
  • Lightweight/ DK yarn: candy pink ( color A ), light pink ( color B ) ( 100 gr for the sample – toddler size/ 100 gr or 344 yds per skein )
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Toggle buttons
  • Tulle: pink

Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each round/ row instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into the same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc into 1st stitch for every first dc of each round, so just choose your best technique

Special stitch used:

  • V stitch: ( dc, ch1, dc ) into same stitch or space
  • 2dc- V stitch: ( 2dc, ch1, 2dc ) into same stitch or space
  • 3dc- V stitch: ( 3dc, ch1, 3dc ) into same stitch or space

Skill level: Easy

Gauge: 9 double crochet stitches x 5 rows = approximately 2 inches ( with materials indicated )

Dress:

Body part: working in round

Start with color A yarn.

R1: Ch 88, sl into 1st ch to form round, 88 dc around, sl into the first stitch to join.

R2: Change to color B yarn, 88 dc around, sl into the first stitch to join.

R3: Change to color A yarn, 88 dc around, sl into the first stitch to join.

Repeat ( R2 and R3 ) x 5 more times until you reach R13.

R14: Work all stitches of this round in front-loops, with color A yarn, ( dc, skip 1 st, V stitch into next st, skip 1 st ) x 22 times around, sl into the first stitch to join.

R15: ( dc, skip 1 st, 2dc- V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 1 st ) x 22 times around, sl into the first stitch to join.

R16: ( dc, skip 2 sts, 2dc- V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 2 sts ) x 22 times around, sl into the first stitch to join.

R17: ( dc, skip 2 sts, 3dc- V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 2 sts ) x 22 times around, sl into the first stitch to join.

R18: ( dc, skip 3 sts, 3dc- V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 3 sts ) x 22 times around, sl into the first stitch to join.

R19: same as R18 ( fasten off, weave in ends )


Shoulder straps: ( make 2 ) With color A yarn

Back to R1 of the body part, make 88 sc around ( fasten off )

R1: from the last stitch of the previous round, skip 9 sts, insert hook and yarn into next st, make 9 sc across, turn.

R2: dc, skip 3 sts, 3dc- V stitch into next st, skip 3 sts, dc, turn.

R3: dc, skip 3 sts, 3dc- V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 3 sts, dc, turn.

R4 to R12: same as R3

R13: dc, skip 3 sts, ( 3dc, ch3, 3dc) into next ch1-space, skip 3 sts, dc, turn.

R14: ch1, 11 dc across ( fasten off )

Repeat R1 to R14 on the other side. ( fasten off, weave in ends )

Attach toggle buttons to the front side.
