Materials:

  • Worsted Weight Yarn
  • I 5.50mm Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle

Stitches:

  • Slip Stitch (SS) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.
  • Chain (Ch) – Yarn over. Pull through loop.
  • Single Crochet (Sc) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.
  • Double Crochet (Dc) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Special Stitches:

V-stitch – (Dc. Chain 1. Dc.) in the same stitch.


Instructions:

Chain 96. Without twisting your chain join with a SS to the first ch made. If you have trouble doing this, check out my fool proof trick on joining a long series of chains in the round.

Round 1: Ch 4 (Counts as first Dc and ch 1 space.) Dc in the same space. Ch 7. Skip the next 8 chs. *(Dc. Ch 1. Dc.) in the next ch. Skip the next 2 chs.* Repeat from * to * around Join with a SS to the first Dc made (3rd ch)

Round 2 – 15: SS into the next ch 1 space. Ch 4 (Counts as first Dc and ch 1 space.) Dc in the same space. Ch 7. Skip the ch 7 space. *(Dc. Ch 1. Dc.) in the next ch space.* Repeat from * to * around Join with a SS to the first Dc made (3rd ch)

Finish off.


Bow (Make 3):

Chain 16

Row 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and each ch across.

Row 2 – 8: Ch 1. Sc in the BLO across.

Finish off.


Center of Bow (Make 3):

Chain 4

Row 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and each ch across.

Row 2 – 10: Ch 1. Sc across.

Finish off.

Attach bows to the cowl by wrapping the center bow piece around the Bow and all the ch 7 spaces in each color change.
