Materials:

• Craft Cotton (worsted weight 100% cotton)
• -approx. 410 yards
• Crochet hook in size G/4mm

Gauge: Not super important, but approx. 16 sts in 4” width

Pattern Notes:

• Pattern written using US terms.
• The chain/s at the beginning of the round do NOT count as a stitch.
• Place the first stitch of each row in the same stitch as join unless otherwise noted.
• The slip stitches in round 19 help to keep the seam from turning. Make sure the last double crochet stitch goes INTO the slip stitch itself.
• Sl st = Slip Stitch
• Sc = Single Crochet
• Hdc = Half Double Crochet
• Dc = Double Crochet

Pattern:

Round 1:Ch-62, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each to end. Join to top of first dc with sl st. (60)

Rounds 2 through 18: Ch-2, dc in each st around. Join to top of first dc with sl st. (60)

Round 19: Sl st in next st (this helps to keep the pillow/seam from curling) Ch-1, hdc in the same st and the next 27 sts. Dc in next 32 sts (32nd dc will be IN the sl st). Join to top of first st. (60)

Round 20: Ch-1, hdc in same st, sc in next 26 sts, hdc in next. Dc in next 32 sts. Join to top of first st. (60)

Round 21: Ch-1, hdc in same st, sl st in next 26 sts, hdc in next. Dc in next 32 sts. Join to top of first st. (60)

Rounds 22 through 31: alternate rounds 20 & 21

Rounds 32 through 36: repeat round 20

Round 37: repeat row 19

Rounds 38 through 42: Ch-2, dc in each st around. Join to top of first st. (60)

Round 43: repeat row 19

Rounds 44 through 48: repeat round 20

Round 49: repeat round 21

Round 50: repeat round 20

Rounds 51 through 60: alternate rounds 21 & 20

Round 61: repeat round 19

Rounds 62 through 80: Ch-2, dc in each st around. Join to top of first st. (60)

Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Lay the pillow as flat as possible and find the two inner-most parts of the opening. Attach with a sl st and ch-70 (or to desired length, which must be at least the circumference of the opening). Feed the chain in and out of the stitches in the first (and last) rounds so that it can be cinched shut.
