- Variety of cotton and cotton blend yarn
- G hook or 4.25 mm
Pattern
Row 1
Chain two, work seven single crochet in the second chain from your hook.
Row 2
Chain three (counts as a double crochet), turn your work, two double crochet in the next stitch, double crochet in the next stitch, chain one, skip the next stitch, double crochet in the next one, two double crochet in the next stitch, and double crochet in that last single crochet.
For Row 3
Chain three, turn your work, three double crochet in that first stitch (increasing), chain one, in the next chain one space (center of the shawl) work three double crochet, chain one, and in the same space work three double crochet, chain one, and four double crochet on top of that chain three.
Row 4
Chain three, turn your work, three double crochet in that same stitch, chain one, three double crochet in that chain one space, chain one, in the center stitch work three double crochet, chain one, three double crochet, chain one, in the next chain one space work three double crochet, chain one, and in that last stitch on top of that chain three work four double crochet.
For Rows 5-49
Repeat row four until the shawl reaches the desired size. The creator worked 45 rows.
Edging
Row 1
Chain one, turn your work, single crochet in the first double crochet, three double crochet in that chain one space, skip all the double crochet, three double crochet, skip the next double crochet, single crochet in the next one, three double crochet in that chain one space, single crochet in that center double crochet, three double crochet in the next chain one space, repeat across, and single crochet in that last stitch (chain three).
Row 2
Chain three, turn your work, two double crochet in that first stitch (single crochet).
