Crochet Convertible Dress / Skirt

Materials: ( I used )

• 3.5 mm crochet hook
• Sport weight yarn: brown ( 400 gr for the sample – size L/ 100 gr or 382 yds per skein )
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/ round instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc into 1st stitch for every first dc of each row/round, so choose your best technique 

Special stitches used:

• V stitch: ( dc, ch1, dc ) into same stitch or space.
• 2dc-V stitch: ( 2dc, ch1, 2dc ) into same stitch or space.
• 3dc-V stitch: ( 3dc, ch1, 3dc ) into same stitch or space.
• 4dc-V stitch: ( 4dc, ch1, 4dc ) into same stitch or space.

This crochet convertible dress/skirt pattern fits size L ( chest size 36 to 38 inches )

Skill level: Easy

Gauge: 10 double crochet stitches x 4 rows approximately 2 inches ( with materials indicated )

Dress/ Skirt:

R1: ch 160, sl into 1st ch to form round, ( dc, skip 1 ch, V stitch into next ch, skip 1 ch ) x 40 times around, sl into 1st st to join.

R2: ( dc, skip 1 st, V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 1 st ) x 40 times around, sl into 1st st to join.

R3 to R20: same as R2

R21: ( dc, skip 1 st, 2dc-V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 1 st ) x 40 times around, sl into 1st st to join.

R22: ( dc, skip 2 st, 2dc-V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 2 st ) x 40 times around, sl into 1st st to join.

R23 to R30: same as R22

R31: ( dc, skip 2 sts, 3dc-V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 2 sts ) x 40 times around, sl into 1st st to join.

R32: ( dc, skip 3 sts, 3dc-V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 3 sts ) x 40 times around, sl into 1st st to join.

R33 to R40: same as R32

R41: ( dc, skip 3 sts, 4dc-V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 3 sts ) x 40 times around, sl into 1st st to join.

R42: ( dc, skip 4 sts, 4dc-V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 4 sts ) x 40 times around, sl into 1st st to join.

R43 to R50: same as R42 ( fasten off, weave in ends )

Hold 2 strands of yarn together, and crochet a chain of 60 inches for the drawstring cord. Thread around R1 of the finished project.
