Materials Needed

Yarn:

  • 3 colors for lavender petals.
  • Green yarn for the leaves.
  • Off-white yarn for the base of the bouquet.

Crochet Hook: 2.5 mm.

Tools: Stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors, key ring or snap key holder.

Additional Supplies: Thin wires (optional, for shaping leaves), glue

Part 1: Lavender Petals

Each lavender flower consists of crocheted bumps that create the appearance of small petals. Follow this precise pattern:

Step 1

Slip Knot: Make a slip knot on your hook.

Foundation Chains: Chain 23.

Step 2

Block off the last chain.

Chain 1 (turning chain).

In the second chain from the hook:

Make 1 single crochet.

Make another single crochet in the same stitch (2 single crochets total).

Step 3

In the next chain:

Make 1 single crochet.

Chain 3.

Slip stitch into the first chain of the 3-chain sequence (this creates a «bump»).

Repeat the above (single crochet, chain 3, slip stitch) 8 times in total.

Step 4

Move to the next chain:

Make 1 single crochet.

Chain 4.

Slip stitch into the first chain of the 4-chain sequence.

Repeat this 8 times in total.

Step 5

Move to the next chain:

Make 1 single crochet.

Chain 5.

Slip stitch into the first chain of the 5-chain sequence.

Repeat this 5 times in total.

Step 6

In the last chain:

Make 2 single crochets.

Fasten off the yarn and cut it.

Repeat

Make 3 lavender petals, using one for each flower. You can use different colors or the same color for all petals.

Part 2: Leaves

The leaves are crocheted around thin wires for structural support.

Step 1

Wire Preparation: Cut thin wires into 10 cm lengths, and fold each wire in half.

Foundation Chains: Use green yarn to chain 6.

Block off the 6th chain and make 1 additional (turning chain).

Step 2

In the second chain from the hook:

Insert hook into the chain and yarn over.

Pull thread through (but do not complete the stitch).

Place the folded wire above the working yarn.

Complete the single crochet, trapping the wire inside the stitch.

Step 3

Next chain:

Make 1 half double crochet (HDC) while trapping the wire.

Yarn over and pull the loop through all 3 strands.

Repeat 3 more HDCs (total of 4 HDCs).

Step 4

In the last chain:

Make 3 single crochets while hiding the wire in between.

Rotate to work on the other side of the foundation chain.

Step 5

On the other side, make 1 HDC into the following 4 chains while trapping the wire.

In the last chain:

Make 1 single crochet.

Slip stitch into the first single crochet to secure the shape.

Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Repeat

Make 2 leaves.

Part 3: Bouquet Base

The base of the bouquet is crocheted as a rectangle.

Step 1

Foundation Chains: Chain 24.

Row 1:

Block off the last chain.

Chain 2 (turning chains).

Yarn over.

Make 1 double crochet into the 3rd chain from the hook.

Continue making 1 double crochet into each of the remaining chains (total of 24 double crochets).

Step 2

Rows 2–6:

Chain 2 at the start of each row.

Turn your work.

Make 1 double crochet into each stitch for 24 stitches.

Do not fasten off after completing Row 6. Leave a long tail to assemble the bouquet.

Part 4: Assemble the Bouquet

Stems: Cut wires into 3 pieces:

2 pieces, each 7.5 cm.

1 piece, 9 cm.

Attach Lavender to Stems:

Take one stem (short wire, 7.5 cm), one lavender petal, and one leaf.

Use glue to secure the tip of the petal around the stem.

Wrap the petal tightly around the stem and glue it at the base.

Wrap green yarn around the base of the petal and stem for 0.5 cm to secure the assembly.

Attach a leaf to the stem using green yarn and glue.

Wrap the rest of the stem with yarn until covered.

Repeat: Create the remaining two flowers:

One with the shorter wire and a leaf.

One with the longer wire but without a leaf.

Tie the Flowers Together:

Arrange the three stems together.

Wrap them with green yarn to secure

Part 5: Finish the Bouquet

Keep about 3–4 stitches of space above the bottom of the bouquet base.

Fold the bouquet base over the lavender flowers to wrap them securely.

Use a tapestry needle and the leftover tail of yarn to stitch and secure the folds together.

Wrap the remaining yarn around the bouquet twice and knot it firmly.

Final Details

Attach the key ring:

Insert yarn into the third double crochet from the right on the rectangle base.

Pull the yarn through to create a loop.

Slip the key ring through the loop and secure.

Make a decorative bow:

Crochet a string of 50 chains (or use a ribbon).

Tie it around the bouquet.
