Crochet Adult Shark Blanket

Materials:
-Red Heart Super Saver Medium (worsted) weight yarn
For the Large size I used approximately 1700 yards of Gray Heather, Small amounts of Black, White, and Cherry Red.
–Size K-6.50mm AND I-5.50mm crochet hook
–Yarn Needle

–Stuffing (optional)

Notes:
-Ch 2 at the beginning of row/round does NOT count as a stitch.
-The Blanket part is made using a K-6.50mm size crochet hook, and all the fins and embellishments are made using the I-5.50mm crochet hook.
-For the Tail Fin, Dorsal Fin, and Eyes, work in the BLO

You can make this however long you want. I did 30 rows, but you can do less or more depending on how long you want to make your shark.
Row 44-74: DC in each st across. DO NOT sl st to beginning dc. Ch 2, turn. (150)
Fasten off, weave in end.
Gum Line:
With I-5.5mm Crochet Hook
Attach Red yarn
Row 75: HDC in each st across. Fasten off, weave in ends.
Teeth:
With I-5.5mm Crochet Hook
With White
Attach to one end
*Ch 6, Sl St in 2nd ch from hook, SC in next, HDC in next, DC in next, TC in next, Sk 3 sts on red gum line, Sl St in next st on row 75. Repeat from * across.
Tail Fin
Make 2 with I-5.50mm Crochet Hook
With 2 strands of yarn in Gray,
Work in the BLO
Row 1: Chain 52, DC in 3rd ch from hook and across, ch 2, turn (50dc)
Row 2: DC2TOG twice, DC in each stitch across, ch 2, Turn (48dc)
Row 3: DC in each stitch until the last 4 sts, DC2TOG twice, ch 2, turn (46dc)
Row 4-11: repeat rows 2 & 3 until you have 30 sts
Row 12: 2 DC in first 2 sts, DC across, ch 2, turn (32dc)
Row 13: DC in each st across until the last 2 sts, 2 DC in each of the last 2 sts, ch 2, turn (34)
Row 14-21: Repeat rows 12 & 13 until you have 50 sts.
Do not fasten off, continue to sc around entire piece.
Fasten off with long tail for sewing.
Sew both tails together to make it extra thick, Stuff tail if you would like. Cinch around top to make it smaller, then sew it around rnd 10 of the body.
Pectoral Fins
(Make 2) with I-5.50mm crochet hook
With 2 strands of yarn in gray,

Add white yarn detail in eye
Sew to body.
Gills: Make 4 (or as many as you want)
FDC 20
OR Ch 22, DC in 3rd ch from hook and across.
Fasten off with long tail. Sew to body behind eyes.
Finishing:
Sew Eyes to row 13 of gray color from mouth
Sew Pectoral Fins to line 26 of gray color from mouth
Sew Dorsal Fin to line 30 of gray color from mouth.
Sew in all loose ends.
