General Notes
- Written in US terminology.
- Ch-1 does not count as a stitch.
- Beginning Ch-2 does count as a dc stitch.
- Stitch counts are given at end of Rounds in brackets as (number of stitches).
- Carry the indicated Colors under the next Row, give a tug on the ends of each Row to straighten out the carried yarn, do not carry it across too tightly.
- White (MC) is always the sc rows, every other Row.

Ch 25
Row 1: (RS) 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc sts), 1 dc in each st across, yo with Color (MC) on last yo of last st, carry Color (A) under next Row. (23 dc).
Color (MC)-White
Row 2: (WS) Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each st across, yo with Color (B) on last yo of last st, carry Color (MC) under next Row. (23 sc).
Note: Row 3 starts the Alpine stitch.
Color (B)-Green
Row 3: (RS) Ch 2 (counts as dc), turn, *1 dc in next st, 1 fpdc around next dc post st two Rows below*, repeat *-* across, end with 1 dc in last 2 sts, yo with Color (MC) on last yo of last st, carry Color (B) under next Row. (13 dc, 10 fpdc).
Color (MC)-White
Row 4: (WS) Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each st across, yo with Color (A) on last yo of last st, carry Color (MC) under next Row. (23 sc).
Color (A)-Turquoise
Row 5: (RS) Ch 2, turn, *1 fpdc around next dc post st two Rows below, 1 dc in next st*, repeat *-* across, end with 1 dc in last st, yo with Color (MC) on last yo of last st, carry Color (A) under next Row. (12 dc, 11 fpdc).

Notes:
When starting a Round in a new Color, may use a standing stitch, or sl st and chains to begin, with a slip knot on your hook.
Adjust the final Round to measure 12×12”. To increase size, add additional Round or change to taller sts. To reduce size, omit a Round or change to shorter sts.
Color (MC) White
Round 1: *[sc, ch 1, sc] in corner, 1 sc in each st across*, repeat *-* around, end with sl st to beg sc. (23 sc on each side).
Round 2: Ch 4 (counts as 1 hdc, ch 2), hdc in same corner sp, *1 hdc in each st across, [1 hdc, ch 2, 1 hdc] in corner*, repeat *-* around, end with 1 hdc in each st across, sl st to 2nd ch of beg ch-4. (25 hdc on each side).
Measures 9”X9”. End off yarn.
Color (B) Green
