Crochet Floral Lace Bookmark

Materials needed:

  • Crochet hook 2 mm
  • Aunt Lydia’s, Fashion 3, 100% Cotton Weight Category – 1 (Super Fine).

Crochet floral lace bookmark size:

Full Length with cord: 36 cm (14’)

Length without cord: 24.5 cm (10’)

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches:

ch – chain

SC – single crochet

sl st – slip stitch

sp – space

DTR – double treble

TrTr – triple treble

st(s) – stitch(es)

RS – right side

Crochet floral lace bookmark pattern:

Chain 5, DTR into the 1st ch to join.

Row 1: Work into the ring: 8 SC, SC into the 1st ch and where we did DTR, 8 SC into the ring.

Row 2: SC in next 4 sts (starting with the first SC of previous row), ch 5, SC in next 4 sts, sl st into the next st. Ch 2. Turn.

Row 3: [TrTr into ch-5 sp, ch1] – repeat 5 times. Ch 5, DTR into the 5th ch from the hook. Work into the ring: 8 SC, SC into the 1stch and where we did DTR, 8 SC into the ring. [TrTr into ch-5 space, ch1] – repeat 5 times. Ch 2, skip 4 sts, SC. Turn.

Row 4: 2 SC in ch-2 sp, ch 2, sl sl in 1st ch, SC in TrTR, SC in ch-1 sp, ch 2, sl sl in 1st ch, SC into the same ch-1 sp, SC in TrTr, ch 2, sl sl in 1st ch, 2 SC in ch-1 sp, ch 2, sl sl in 1st ch, SC in TrTr, SC in ch-1 sp, ch 2, sl sl in 1st ch, SC in TrTr, SC in ch-1 sp, SC in TrTr. Turn the ring on the right side facing you and work along it. 4 SC in next 4 sts, ch 5, 4 SC in next 4 sts. SC in TrTr, SC in ch-1 sp, SC in TrTr, SC in ch-1 sp, SC in TrTr, 2 SC in ch-1 sp, SC in TrTr, 2 SC in ch-1 sp, SC in TrTr, 2 SC in ch-2 sp. Turn.

Row 5: (no ch1 needed) [sl st in next two sts, ch-2, sl sl in 1st ch] – repeat 5 times, sl st in next three sts.

Ch 2 and start repeating everything from Row 3. Repeat Rows 3-5 as many times as needed.

Cut the yarn. Weave in all ends.

Additional instructions:

Do not forget to iron your bookmark(s).

For the twisted cord, cut the yarn approximately 120 cm (47”) and fold it in half twice. Pull the yarn through the ch-5 space. Start twisting the thread ends in opposite directions. Now join ends together, holding them in one hand, lift your bookmark and let it twist naturally.

It will twist upon itself. Tie yarn ends together in a knot leaving a 2.5 cm tail.

Now give your tail a little haircut on the ends and you are done
