Pattern Instructions

stitches contained within ** are the repeat section for that row.

when joining the two bobble stitches, make sure you sl st through both loops of the chain, this way you won’t have a gap at the base of the pom pom.

this tutorial is designed for blankets, but you can skip the corner pom pom and make it for a straight edge.

Step 1: We will start with the corner pom pom. Ch6, bo in the 3rd ch from hook

Step 2: ch3, bo to create a second bobble on top of the first

Step 3: join the two bobbles to create the pom pom by sl st in the 3rd ch from the base row.

Step 4: ch3 and sl st in the same stitch where you chained 6 – your corner bobble is complete

Step 5: Next we will crochet the second pom pom that goes along the edge. Ch6, bo on 3rd ch from hook

Step 6: ch3, bo in 3rd ch from hook to create a second bobble on top of the first

Step 7: Create the pom pom by sl st in the 3rd ch from the base row

Step 8: ch3, sk2, sl st in next stitch. You second pom pom is complete.

Step 9: Repeat steps 5 – 8 until you reach the next corner. Your last pom pom must end in the corner stitch. If you don’t have enough stitches to sk2, then just skip 1. If you have too many, then skip 3. It will not make a massive difference in the overall look of the border. The important thing is that you must end in the corner stitch.

Repeat steps 1 – 9 to crochet the pom pom border all around your project.
